Clark Atlanta University

Clark Atlanta University (CAU) is a prestigious private, historically black university located in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 1988, CAU is the result of a merger between two of the most renowned African-American institutions in the United States – Clark College and Atlanta University. With a student body of over 4,000 students, Clark Atlanta University is one of the most diverse universities in the country. CAU offers a wide variety of academic programs, ranging from the liberal arts to business and engineering. The university also offers a number of extracurricular activities and sports programs. CAU’s athletic teams, known as the Panthers, compete in the NCAA Division II Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The Panthers have won numerous conference championships in a variety of sports, including men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, tennis, track & field, and cross country. The Panthers are also known for their strong basketball program. The men’s basketball team has won the SIAC championship six times and has made two NCAA tournament appearances. The women’s basketball team has also won the SIAC championship four times and has made two NCAA tournament appearances. In addition to their athletic accomplishments, the Panthers are also involved in a variety of community service projects. The university’s student-athletes are actively involved in a number of organizations, such as the Atlanta Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Atlanta Student-Athlete Leadership Council. Through these organizations, the student-athletes are able to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of those around them.
