Prairie View A&M University

Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) is a historically black public university located in Prairie View, Texas. Founded in 1876, PVAMU is one of the oldest public universities in the state and is part of the Texas A&M University System. PVAMU offers a wide range of degree programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. PVAMU is a proud member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and is home to some of the best collegiate sports teams in the nation. PVAMU’s football team has won five conference championships and has made several appearances in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) playoffs.
